Mary Jane Hartman 1931-2011
Mary Jane Hartman, 79, of Bluffton died at 4:06 p.m. June 18, 2011 at Heritage Manor, Findlay. She was born July 2, 1931 in Lima to Philip and Stella Reichenbach Marquart.
On Oct. 28, 1949 she married Daryl E. Hartman and he preceded her in death on April 19, 2011. Mrs. Hartman worked at the Cory-Rawson School in the cafeteria and as a teacher's aid.
Mary and Daryl were active in the Cory-Rawson Band Boosters and were active with the booster tent at the Hancock County Fair. A member of the Bethel Church of Christ, Ada, she taught Sunday school for over 25 years and belonged to its Ladies Aid Society and Christian Couples Group.
She was a graduate of Mt. Cory High School.
Survivors include two sons, Terry (Jody) Hartman of Northwood, Timothy Hartman of Findlay, two daughter, Pamela (Gordon) Nessler of Jenera, Sue Hartman of Columbus, seven grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Two sisters, Alice Peters and Bonnie Bigelow, preceded her in death.
Funeral services will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Bethel Church of Christ, Ada. The Rev. Harrison Underwood will officiate. Burial will be in Thompson Cemetery, Orange Township.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Tuesday at Chiles-Laman Funeral Home, Bluffton and one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Michael J. Fox Parkinson's Foundation.
