Jordan Skilliter enjoys successful summer pitching season
The NWO Buckeyes U14 travel baseball team placed 3rd in the Nations Ohio State upper Elite Division baseball tournament this past weekend in Grove City.
The Buckeyes defeated Akron Attack 3-1, Brunswick Blue Sox 4-2, Bowling Green Jr Bobcats 9-8 and lost in the semi-finals to the Rubber City Hit Club 15-3. The Rubber City team was ranked #1 in the nation at the time.
Leading hitters were Ross Adolph (Van Buren), Clay Grubb
(McComb) and Jordan Skilliter (Bluffton) who all hit home runs during the tournament.
Winning pitchers were Travis Clark (McComb) and Jordan Skilliter (Bluffton). The Buckeyes are currently ranked #4 in the state and #8 nationally based on strength of schedule and record.
The Buckeyes are 23-6-2 and are qualified for both the BPA World
Series in Indiana and Nations Ultimate World Series in Findlay. The team is composed of players from county schools including Van Buren, McComb, North Baltimore, Riverdale, Bluffton and Ottawa.
