Kenneth Stucky 1930-2011
Kenneth Lee Stucky, 81, of Pandora, died at 7:35 p.m. July 16, 2011 at his residence. He was born March 12, 1930 in Van Nuys, Calif., to Kenneth E. and Alice M. Shank Stucky. The family was part of the Van Nuys Missionary Church from Ken's earliest days. On Jan. 25, 1952 he married Betty Wolmerstett and she survives.
Rev. Stucky was ordained new yea'rs eve 1952 at Calvary Missionary Church where he pastored for seven years. After pastoring Duarte Missionary Church, planting a church in San Jose and pastoring the Granada Hills Community Church he and his family moved to Pandora where he pastored the Pandora Missionary Church for seven years.
The next five years he was Superintendent of the East Central District of the Missionary Church. He was then asked to move to the denominational headquarters in Ft. Wayne, Ind., where he spent the last 14 years of full time ministry.
In his retirement he pastored a seasonal church known as Palm Creek Golf and RV Chapel, which meets from Nov. 1 to mid-April.
Survivors also include three daughters, Dotty (Jim) Leightner, Sherry (Dave) Krohn, Sue (Scott) Lehman all of Pandora, seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren and a brother, Darrel (Elizabeth) Stucky of Murrieta, Calif. He was preceded in death by two grandchildren and brother, Kerry Stucky.
Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Pandora Missionary Church. Revs. Sam Ochstein, Dale Linebaugh, Bob Ransom and Bill Hossler will officiate.
Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Pandora. Visitation will be at the church from Monday 6-8 p.m., Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service.
