Over 100 submissions in library photo contest; vote for your favorite on Aug. 6
With over 100 photo submissions, Bluffton Public Library's first amateur photo contest was a great success, but the contest isn't over yet.
Stop by the library on Saturday, Aug. 6, between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. to vote for your favorite photo. Drawings for a free specialty drink at Common Grounds will be held every 15 minutes. First, second and third place winners will be announced at 11 a.m. Another 24 lucky contest participants will win tickets to exciting places to visit and experience.
The library staff and administration thank everyone who submitted photos in support of Bluffton Public Library. The library also wishes to extend special thanks to Greg's Pharmacy for sponsoring the first, second and third place prizes and its continued support of literacy and lifelong learning in the community.
With state funding cuts exceeding 35 percent per year, the library now relies heavily on donations and fundraisers to retain hours and essential services.
"We appreciate the generous support we receive from the community and area businesses. The investment is priceless, impacts people of all ages and lasts for years," said library director Cindi Chasse.
