Bluffton High School marching band gives at village park, noon Friday
Bluffton High School's marching band will perform a free show at noon, Friday, Aug. 19, at the village park, according to Dave Sycks, director.
The show is a tune-up for the Allen County Fair band show held later that evening.
The noon show will include the pre-game, the first show of the year and portions of the second show.
This year's first show's theme is a '70s look-back of the music of Earth, Wind and Fire. Music performed includes After The Love Is Gone, Get Away and September.
The second show is a modern pop show. It includes music made popular within the last 10 years.
The third show, still in the learning stages, features music from The Lion King.
Sycks said that this year's band has 52 members, of which eight are flag corp members. Hannah Chappel Dick is the senior field commander and Rachel Yoder is the junior commander.
