Richard Augsburger 1924-2011
Richard Wayne Augsburger, 87, of Bluffton, died at 9:30 a.m. Aug. 26, 2011 at Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton. He was born Feb. 20, 1924, in Bluffton to Harley E. and Rhoda Stratton Augsburger who preceded him in death. On Feb. 3, 1946, he married Virginia G. Roberts and she survives.
Mr. Augsburger was a 1942 graduate of Bluffton High School. He served three year in US Army during WWII and retired from Ex-Cell-O Corp., Bluffton in 1985. He attended Bluffton Baptist Church and was a member of American Legion Post 382, Bluffton.
Survivors also include a daughter, Nancy Ann (Walter) Nagel of Middletown, Pa., a son, James M. (Deborah) Augsburger of Bluffton, three grandsons, one granddaughter, four great grandchildren and two step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Donivan K. and Burdette E. Augsburger.
At Mr. Augsburger's request there will be no visitation or services are planned. His body was donated to the Medical University of Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the Bluffton EMS.
