Nellie Harris, 1921 - 2011
Nellie P. Harris, 90 died at 11:30 p.m., Sept. 15, 2011 at the Mennonite Memorial Home, Bluffton. She was born Jan. 9, 1921 in Gilboa, Ohio to Rex and Ruth (Townsend) Ridge. On March 16, 1941 she married Donald Harris and he died August 13, 1988.
She was a farmer's wife. She was a member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, Benton Ridge. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star, Rawson. She had volunteered for hospice and for Reach for Recovery. She was a former member of the Hancock County Farm Bureau. She was a 1937 graduate of Liberty High School, rural Findlay.
Survivors include a son John (Lilly) Harris of Milwaukee, Wisc., a daughter Linda (Chuck) Sullivan of Mt. Cory; three granddaughters Beth Harris of Fishers, Ind., Kimberly (Joe) Kussmaul of Pickerington, Kelly A. Sullivan of Mt. Cory; a grandson Scott (Meredith) Sullivan of Miamisburg; and four grandsons Spencer and Parker Kussmaul and Garrett and Lance Kisseberth.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday Sept. 20, 2011 at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. Chaplain William Herr officiating. Burial will be in Clymer Cemetery, Mt. Cory. Visitation will be held Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Donate Life of Ohio, Good Shepherd United Methodist Church, Benton Ridge or the Northwest Ohio Kidney Foundation.
