Evelyn Michel Sutter 1921-2011
Evelyn L. Michel Sutter, 90, of Bluffton died at 7:53 p.m., Sept. 21, 2011 at Bluffton Hospital. She was born Sept. 5, 1921 in Allen County to Clinton and Leah Peterson Balmer.
On June 28, 1941 she married Clair Michel and he preceded her in death on August 1, 1984. On Dec. 10, 1988 she married Bud Sutter and he died on March 2, 2000.
Mrs. Sutter retired from Triplett Corp., Bluffton, and had also worked at the Charles Company. She was a member of the St. John's United Church of Christ, Bluffton, the Bluffton Senior Citizens and the SHANNON Club of Bluffton. She was a graduate of Mt. Cory High School.
Survivors include a son, Ronald (Pat) Michel of Pandora, a daughter, Karen (Paul) Businger of Bluffton, three grandchildren, Doug Michel of Jenera, Angie (Eric) Reneker of Bluffton, Randy (Pam) Businger of Bluffton, eight great grandchildren, Austin and Nathan Michel, McKenna and Kaden Reneker, Ian and Riley Francis, Brayton and Addison Businger, a step-great granddaughter, Ashley Smith and a sister, Kathryn (Glenn) Graham of Fostoria.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jodi Francis and a brother Donald Balmer.
Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the St. John's United Church of Christ, Bluffton. Rev. Carol Clements will officiate.
Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Bluffton. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday at Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Bluffton.
