Bluffton University freshman Caitlyn Nearhood (Clyde) was named Honorable Mention All-Heartland Conference following a solid campaign in which the Beavers re-introduced tennis after a two-year hiatus. She anchored the first singles and first doubles (with Melissa Hostetler) slots all season for Bluffton.
Also recognized following the 2011 season was freshman Alex Fox (Berne, Ind./South Adams) who was selected to the All-Sportsmanship Team. Fox competed at #4 singles and #3 doubles with fellow freshman Tyler Jennings (Archbold), posting an 8-5 victory over Mount St. Joseph in Bluffton's home opener.
The Beavers wrapped up their initial season back with a 0-10 mark (0-9 HCAC). However, with no seniors on the team, Bluffton returns everyone for the 2012 campaign.
