Lots going on during Monday night trick-or-treating in Bluffton
Knock, knock. Who's there?
Monday night is trick-or-treat night in Bluffton. Halloween hours are from 6 to 7:30 p.m., according to Mayor Fred Rodabaugh.
Several special trick-or-treat events also take place in Bluffton on Monday. Halloweeners are invited to visit the lobby of Mennonite Memorial Home, 410 W. Elm St. An invitation is also extended to Halloweeners at Maple Crest, off Augsburger Road.
Bluffton University
At Bluffton University, door-to-door dorm trick-or-treating will take place at the residence halls of Neufeld, Bren-Dell, Ropp, Ramseyer, Hirschy and Hirschy Annex.
The Social Work Club at Bluffton University is collecting non-perishable food items to donate to the West Ohio Food Bank.
The club hopes to collect 500 items in its "Trick-or-Canning" drive. Donations may be left in boxes placed at Marbeck Center on campus and at Community Market and Common Grounds in Bluffton. The drive continues through Monday, Oct. 31, Trick-or-Treat night in Bluffton, when club members will also visit homes in the community to collect items.
Public Library
Bluffton Public Library will start "trick-or-treat" night early on Monday, Oct. 31, at 5:30 p.m. Make us your first stop on your candy quest and see the Teen Advisory Group all dressed up for an Enchanted Forest.
You might see The Big Bad Wolf, Little Red Riding Hood, a tree full of fairies or Zombie Snookie from 'The Jersey Shore.'
Richland Manor
Trick-or-treaters are welcome at Richland Manor, 7400 Swaney Road, from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Oct. 31.
Baptist Church
Bluffton Baptist Church will offer Truck and Treats for children during Bluffton's trick-or-treat night, according to John McMinn, pastor.
The church event will take place during trick-or-treat hours from 6-8 p.m., Monday, Oct. 31.
"We plan to park on the front side of our church along the driveway with trunk or tailgates forward," McMinn told the Icon.
"Each car/truck will have treats to dispense attended by costumed adults dressed as various role models. A crossing guard will be provided at County Line Road. Treats are free for the asking," he said.
The church is located at 345 County Line Road.
