Special music of the season planned in December at Bluffton Presbyterian
What do you do with 10 trumpets on Christmas Eve? Dave Sycks will be writing a special arrangement of "O Come All Ye Faithful" for Bluffton Presbyterian's large rank of trumpet players to perform during the instrumental prelude at 6:30 p.m. on Christmas Eve.
At 7 p.m. there will be a program of Lessons and Carols performed by the Choir, Praise Team, and soloists, followed by candle lighting.
At the 10:30 a.m. worship service on Dec. 4, mezzo soprano, Julia Szabo, will sing "O Thou That Tellest Good Tidings to Zion" from Handel's Messiah and the Praise Team will offer "Mary Did You Know?"
The worship service on Dec. 11 will be given by the young people (preschool through grade 12) and is called "Informed and Transformed." The youngest children will sing "Jesus Loves Me" and a young women's ensemble will perform "Magnificat/Could It Be?" arranged by Neal and Ross, with a solo by Jane Sycks.
On Dec. 18 the Choir, directed by Linda Sycks, will sing "Great Joy A Comin'" by Angerman and Graham.
For the worship service on Christmas Day, Michelle and Pastor Matthew Zuehlke will sing a duet.
