Jan. 10 Forum to address fitness as spiritual discipline
Tom Hafer, a physical therapist and ordained pastor from Cape Coral, Fla., will discuss "Fitness as a Spiritual Discipline" in a Bluffton University Forum at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, in Founders Hall. The presentation is free and open to the public.
Hafer is the author of the 2010 book "Wellplanet: Fitness as a Spiritual Discipline." He has been addressing the topic with audiences since 2002, saying that when individuals care for themselves to better care for others, their efforts toward personal fitness become a true spiritual discipline-an expression of gratitude and thanksgiving for all of life.
Hafer, a married father of three, also wrote the 2007 book "Faith & Fitness: Diet and Exercise for a Better World."
