Fred Rodabaugh chamber speaker; intellectual property workshop follows on Feb. 10
Former Bluffton mayor, Fred Rodabaugh, will offer his observations on Bluffton over the past half century during the 7:30 a.m., Friday morning, Feb.10, Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce breakfast. The event is in the Bluffton town hall.
Rodabaugh is a life-long Bluffton resident. He graduated from Bluffton High School in 1965. He attended Bluffton College and then served in the U.S. Air Force in Vietnam.
Upon returning from active duty he re-enrolled and graduated from Bluffton College in 1974, majoring in business. Rodabaugh became involved in several downtown businesses projects and other community projects, including owner of Shannon Theatre. He also served on Bluffton council and as Bluffton's mayor.
The Feb. 10 free breakfast serving begins at 7 a.m. The chamber meeting begins at 7:30 a.m.
Intellectual properties workshop follows
Following the breakfast meeting the chamber and Bluffton Center for Entrepreneurs will co-host a free seminar focusing on "intellectual property." Jake Ward, attorney with the firm of Fraser Clemens Martin & Miller LLC, Perrysburg, is the workshop speaker.
He will address topics including intellectual property and technology law, including patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, licensing, technology transfer, intellectual property management and infringement issues.
The attorneys in the firm are technically trained as engineers or scientists. As a result, the firm has a broad range of experience and technical knowledge available to assist clients with intellectual property requirements.
The firm's heritage dates back well over 50 years. The firm has 10 professionals and eight support staff in two states - Ohio and Michigan. Technical disciplines include mechanical, electrical and industrial engineering; electronics; biochemistry and biotechnology; computer
hardware and software; and business method patents.
