February your chance to become an official "Friend" of the library
To celebrate Library Lovers' Month, the Friends of the Bluffton Public Library is holding its annual membership drive. For a donation of $5, anyone can become a Friend of the Library.
Membership forms are available at the library's circulation desk. Contributions will help maintain the programs and services the community of Bluffton expects from its library.
Proceeds for the membership drive and other fundraising are used to financially support the library and help with its programs. In the past, the Friends have provided funds for the children's programs and the summer reading programs.
Educational toys especially designed for toddlers were purchased last year by the Friends. The Friends group also participated in the spring craft fair and conducted a book sale and bake sale during the Fall Festival.
In addition, members of the Friends helped with the library's murder mystery presentation, the Chili Cook-Off and the holiday music events.
The membership drive is one of the group's major fundraising projects each year. Two other events that raise money are the annual spring tea, set for April 12, and the "Birdies for Bookworms Golf Outing," scheduled for June 9.
