AC Blues Society special youth performance Feb. 26
Students who want to play blues are getting some assistance from the Allen County Blues Society. This is more than just music lessons. It's a chance for the kids to start a band, learn how to play together in a cohesive unit, select music for their performances and structure their concerts in a way that gets their audiences to their feet.
The students will be performing live at Twist & Shout, 3801 Shawnee Road, Lima, on Sunday, Feb. 26, from 5-9 p.m. along with hosts, The Hipsters. The band includes 12- year-old Carson Meyers on drums (who plays like he's 30!), Cameron on guitar, and Alex Baker and Nikki Sharp on bass.
Cover charge is $3 which goes directly to the Allen County Blues Society to pay expenses.
The Allen County Blues Society is a group of well-known, local musicians that includes Jim Miller, Dave Liles, James Goare. The Society is applying for its 501 (c) 3 status so it can become a formal non-profit association. Their goal is to provide as much assistance as possible to students who wish to better themselves in the arts.
