Betty Biery, 1917-2012
Betty Biery, 95, of Mt. Cory and Hilty Memorial Home, Pandora, died at 2:30 a.m. Sunday. March 25,2012 at Bluffton Community Hospital, Bluffton.
She was born March 24, 1917 to the late Marion R. and Hazel (Sherrard) Pierman.
Mrs. Biery graduated in 1935 from Pandora High School and in 1937 from Tiffin Business College. She worked at Ohio Power, Lima and Triplett Electrical, Bluffton.
On Feb. 25, 1939 she married Rollin Biery. He preceded her in death on Feb. 25,2005 after 66 years of marriage.
Surviving are three sons, Dean (Joan) Biery, Rawson, Richard (Janet) Biery, Green Valley, Ariz., Dale (Teresa) Biery, Ft. Worth, Texas.
Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Mike (Kathy), and Mark (Lynette) Biery, Beth (Chris) White, Barbara (Dan) Kirk, David (Jennifer) and Darren (Jennica) Biery, Karen (Brian) Galliers, Samantha (James) Hatton, Matthew Lawrence and 12 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by daughter-in-law Phyllis Biery and sister Louise Diller.
Mrs. Biery was a homemaker and farm wife and served in many church related and community service activities.
She was a member of St. John Mennonite Church, Pandora, and the Homebuilders Sunday School Class.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, March 28 at 10:30 a.m. at Chiles -Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Bluffton, with Pastor Lynn Thompson officiating. Burial will be in the Harmon Cemetery, Gilboa.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 27, from 2 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
