Apollo student-built house going up for auction in June
Apollo Career Center Carpentry and Construction and Equipment Technology classes are putting the finishing touches on Apollo's student-built house.
Open houses will be held June 3, from 1-3 p.m. The stone and vinyl ranch is is located on a wooded lot in Cridersville at 723 Briarwood. The interior includes three bedrooms, two full baths, Granite countertops and custom cabinets. It will be offered at public auction Saturday, June 23, at 10 a.m.
In past years, plans were submitted to Apollo by interested parties, and a house was chosen on the basis of location, and how the plans matched with student skills. Over the past several years, Apollo has purchased the lot and built the house on speculation.
This way, students are able to frame, roof, paint interior walls, install siding, stain inside trim and doors, build and install cabinetry, lay tile, install pavers, and pour concrete.
Landscaping students used CAD to design the exterior layout and the yard will be planted soon.
For more information about the house, or to schedule a private showing, contact Auctioneer/Realtor Duane Ridenour, Yocum Realty at 419.222.3040.
