Dumpsters hard at work at Spring Street recycle center
It's spring clean up time in Bluffton. The village has several dumpsters at the Spring Street recycling center available now through May 29, according to Jamie Mehaffie, village administrator.
"This will provide residents with 10 days including two weekend to take items to the center," he said.
What not to dump:
Household hazardous waste materials are not permitted to be disposed of during this period.
The village maintenance department has already had to pull more than a dozen tires out of the dumpsters. These are not approved for disposal.
Wet paint is unacceptable. Dried paint is okay. Simply pour your wet paint onto a flattened cardboard box and let dry. Once it is dry it is disposable in the regular trash.
