Leonard Rieman 1922-2012
Leonard A. Rieman, 90 of Columbus Grove, died at 4:25 pm July 8, 2012, at Putnam Acres, Ottawa. He was born May 11, 1922, in Glandorf to Louis and Appolonia Maag Rieman. On April 14, 1948 he married Rosella F. Diemer and she preceded him in death on April 11, 2005.
Mr. Rieman was a farmer and also retired from Phillips ECG, Ottawa. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bluffton, where he had served on the parish council.
Survivors include seven sons, Thomas Rieman of Worthington, Dennis, (Cindy) Rieman of Kalida, Richard (Tina) Rieman of Ottawa, Kenneth (Kathleen) Rieman of Columbus Grove, Donald Rieman of Bluffton, Robert (Louise) Rieman of Bluffton, R. Edward (Deone) Rieman of Lima, seven daughters, Rose (John) Lymanstall of Napoleon, Rita (Ronald) Teders of Columbus Grove, Judy (Daniel) Niese of Huntsville, Mary (David) Hoffer of Bluffton, Kathy (Tony) Klausing of Westerville, Janet (Alan) Begg of Bluffton and Joan (Jerry) Sehlhorst of Bluffton,
Also surviving are 36 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren with four on the way, and two half sisters, Dorothy Ellerbrock and Velma (Tom) Balbaugh both of Glandorf. He was preceded in death by a brother, Elmer Rieman, a sister Alvera Rieman and his stepfather, Leo Verhoff.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Bluffton. Rev. John Stites will officiate.
Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Bluffton. Visitation will be from 6-8 pm Tuesday and 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Bluffton.
A Parish wake service will begin at 8 p.m. Wednesday. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church, Putnam Acres or the American Cancer Society. Online condolences may be expressed at www.chiles-lamanfh.com.
