MHCO job fair Aug. 2 for Green House STNA and nurse positions
Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio (MHCO), a continuing care retirement community in Bluffton, is hosting a Job Fair for the positions of Shahbaz (Caregiver/STNA) and Nurse in the new Green House homes, which will open in October or November of this year.
The Job Fair will be held at First Mennonite Church, 101 S. Jackson St., Bluffton, on Thursday, Aug. 2. Interested persons may arrive anytime between 12:30-4 p.m. and should allow 90 minutes for the process.
Green House homes create an environment where elders, Shahbaz (caregivers) and nurses thrive together. Empowered to utilize their training, instincts and relationship with each elder they serve, the Shahbaz and nurse grow in dignity, confidence, and self-worth. Green House home employees function as a self-managed work team to create a positive environment for both elders and employees.
A Green House home is a skilled nursing care home where 10 elders enjoy private bedrooms and shared community space. Elders who transitioned from traditional nursing care to Green House living have shown improvement in overall well-being. Greater social interaction, increased mobility, lessened depression, and increased appetite are a few of the improvements replicated again and again.
Marked by individual choice in an engaging lifestyle, Green House living provides many opportunities to experience life at home. In the Green House, each elder has more freedom to choose meals, schedules and activities that enhance purposeful living.
The Job Fair is an opportunity for individuals to learn more about this progressive nursing home environment, ask questions of leadership staff and apply for the positions of Shahbaz (Caregiver/STNA) and Nurse. Extensive training will be provided to staff who are chosen to work in the Green House homes. For more information go to mmhliving.org/news.
