August lunch menu for elementary-MS; plus some reminders about lunch
The Bluffton elementary and middle school August lunch menu is on the Icon.
This note is from the school: Just a reminder that lunch money must be dropped off in the cafeteria before 9 a.m. It should be placed in an envelope with your child's first and last name written on the outside of it, along with the student account number, and the amount of money enclosed.
If you write a check you do not need to use an envelope, however, on the memo line of check you must write both your child's first and last name and account number.
You can also pay online through "Lunchprepay.com". If you
have questions, contact Rosanne Garmatter in the cafeteria at (419)358-7961.
Please Note Increase in Lunch
Prices: $2.20 Elem & MS/$2.45 HS/$2.95 Adult meal.
PLEASE NOTE: The USDA has recently issued new school meal requirements, which will be effective for the 2012-13 school year.
Under the new regulations, schools will be required to offer one-half cup of fruit and three-fourth cup vegetables every day to K-8 students and 1 cup fruit and 1 cup vegetables to grades 9-12.
There will be an increase in the amount of whole-grain foods. Schools are also required to offer only fat-free or low-fat milk and they are now limited as to how much meat/meat alternate (cheese, yogurt, peanut butter) and grains that can be offered.
This means main entrees may not be as large as they have been, however, students will receive more fruits and vegetables than before.
