John Sylak and Emily Glassman will marry in San Francisco
John Christopher Sylak and Emily Jane Glassman will be married at 3 p.m.,Saturday, Sept. 15, 2012, at the San Francisco Theological Seminary in San Anselmo, Calif. The wedding will be officiated by the couple's close friend, Johannah Murphy. The couple will honeymoon in Maui.
John is the son of Philip and Lois Sylak of Bluffton, and a 2004 graduate of Bluffon High School. Emily is the daughter of Steven and Miriam Glassman of Framingham, Mass., and a 2005 graduate of the Cambridge School of Weston.
The bride and groom met in 2005 at the University of Chicago, from which the groom graduated in 2008 with a B.A. in Linguistics and from which the bride graduated in 2009 with two Bachelor's of Science degrees in Chemistry and Biochemistry.
The couple resides in Oakland, Calif. The bride and groom are enrolled in doctorate programs in Chemistry and Linguistics, respectively, at the University of California, Berkeley.
