Helen Andrews retired from Triplett Corp.
Helen M. Andrews, 87 died at 12:35 PM at Hilty Memorial Home, Pandora. She was born January 6, 1925 in Elm Grove, West Virginia to Thomas and Katherine (Daughtery) Shaw. On April 22, 1951 she married Harold E. Andrews and he survives.
Helen was a 1943 graduate of Bridgeport High School, Bridgeport, Ohio in 1943. Following graduation she worked at Wheeling Steel, Wheeling West Virginia. She served in the Women’s Army Corps from 1945 until 1946 serving in the American Theatre Campaign. Upon her honorable discharge she worked for Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay as a medical technician.
She later worked and retired from Triplett Corporation, Bluffton after 25 years of service.
She attended Emmanuel United Church of Christ, Bluffton, was a member of American Legion Post #382, Bluffton.
Surviving are three daughters Rose (Tom) Harvey of Willard, Elaine S. (John) Sommers and Eileen (Mike) Falk both of Bluffton; a son Frank (Heidi) Andrews of Findlay; seven grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren.
Preceding her in death were a grandson Ryan Sommers; three brothers Charles Shaw, Thomas Shaw, Leonard Shaw; six sisters Ruth Case, Elsie Greiner, Mary Bertram, Myrtle Hughes, Jean Jones-Williamson, and Leona Aimee Mcbride.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Monday at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. Rev. David Plant officiating.
Burial will be in the church cemetery where military rites will be performed. Visitation will be Sunday from 2 p.m. - 4 p.m. at the funeral home.
