Eugenie K. Dunbar-Kidd, 1916-2012
Eugenie K. Dunbar-Kidd, age 96, died on Sunday, December 9, 2012 at 8:15 a.m. at her residence in Ada.
She was born on June 11, 1916 in Freeman, South Dakota to Ludwig F. and Friederika (Hermann) Schamber who preceded her in death.
She first married William Henry Dunbar and he died August 8, 1950. She then married Robert H. Kidd and he died on May 13, 1980.
In her early years, she worked for a Dry Cleaning Company and Lima Packing Company.
She was employed at Bluffton College in the cafeteria and Pickerington Security Services, where she worked as a guard.
She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church of LaFayette.
Surviving is a daughter, Phyllis Alta Dunbar Dick of Blue Ridge Summit, PA.; four grandsons: Randy Dunbar of Ada, Ricky Dunbar of Bowling Green, Ronnie Dunbar of Ada and Jeffrey Dick of Corry, PA.; granddaughter, Pam (Larry) Grigsby of Elida; five great grandchildren: Nicole Christy, Cody (Jennifer) Grigsby, Alexis Dick, Marcie Dick & Matthew Dick; two great-great grandchildren: Madison & Dylan Christy.
Preceded in death by son, Marvin N. Dunbar on February 22, 1999; daughter-in-law, Sylvia Joyce Dunbar February 17, 2005; son-in-law, Harold E. Dick on February 12, 2008; three brothers: Arnold, Conrad & Emil Schamber ; seven sisters: Ida Goodwin, Erna Jackson, Leah Nelson, Hedwig "Hattie" Maas, Elsie Rein, Engelina Geckle and Ziona Maas.
A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 14, at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada. Friends may call two hours prior to the service from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Pastor Larry Trover will be officiating.
Burial will be in Truro Cemetery in Columbus Grove, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, LaFayette.
