St. John Mennonite and MHCO partner with PrimeTimers program
PrimeTimers is a local ministry to area seniors that has been taking place for over 10 years. Begun and coordinated by volunteers of St. John Mennonite Church, Pandora, PrimeTimers offers a monthly lunch gathering followed by entertainment designed to encourage and celebrate the blessings of the retirement years of life.
Last year the leadership of St. John Mennonite Church invited Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio (MHCO) to partner with them to continue this program. Part of the mission of MHCO is to promote purposeful living for elders, which made this ministry partnership desirable. The mission of PrimeTimers is “to provide Christ-minded outreach and fellowship opportunities to older adults in our communities.”
The first PrimeTimers event of the year will take place at noon on Tuesday, Feb. 5, at St. John Mennonite Church, 15988 Road 4, Pandora.
Following the potluck, Willie and Rodi Longenecker will provide the entertainment which will include gospel singing. Meat, beverages and table service will be provided. Participants are asked to bring a side dish or dessert to share.
PrimeTimers is for elders age 55 or older. It will meet the first Tuesday of each month (except January or July) at St. John Mennonite Church at noon. For more information, contact Dave Stratton at 419-384-3680.
