Seven restaurants in Maple Crest Feb. 1 soup cook-off
Maple Crest Senior Living Village will host a soup cook-off from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., Friday, Feb. 1, and the public is invited, according to Daren Lee of Maple Crest.
Lee said: Come to the Patio Room in the lower level of the Maple Crest main building and sample gourmet soups prepared by different local restaurants and caterers. Enjoy such soups as:
• Luke's Bar & Grill (Bluffton) – Baked Potato and Bacon
• Logan’s (Findlay) – Logan’s Seafood Chowder
• Jeanne's Kitchen (Bluffton) – Cream of Mushroom
• Mustard Seed Café (Bluffton) – Creamy Sweet Potato with Bacon and Leeks
• PamCakes (Columbus Grove) – Stuffed Pepper
• J’s (Lima/Celina) – Tomato Basil
• Waldo Pepper’s (Findlay) – Zuppa Touscana
The meal includes soups, salad, breadsticks, beverage and dessert. The cost is $7 per person or $5 with a donation of a canned good or box of cold cereal. Tickets for children 5 are $3. All donated items will be given to the Bluffton Community Assistance Program.
The soup cookoff sponsors ask persons to check expiration dates to make sure they are current. All proceeds from the event will benefit the Memory Garden and Pier Project at Maple Crest.
