Five Bluffton students in statewide honors band
Five members of the Bluffton University Concert Band were part of the honors concert band that performed last month at the Ohio Private College Instrumental Conductors Association Honors Festival.
Representing Bluffton at the 25th annual event, hosted by Muskingum University, were senior Scott Troyer of Sugarcreek, Ohio; junior Chelsey Parker of McComb, Ohio; sophomores Bethany Babcock of Deshler, Ohio, and Renee Kindle of Upper Sandusky, Ohio; and first-year student Meagan Palte of Ottawa, Ohio. Accompanying them was Dr. Adam Schattschneider, a Bluffton professor of music.
Nominations for the band were submitted by conductors at each of the association’s 20 member colleges and universities. The students selected by the event chair then rehearsed for two days before presenting the concert to conclude the festival. All of the Bluffton nominees were chosen as honors band members.
