Krysti's Music Studio expands instrument lesson offerings

Krysti’s Music Studio may soon be able to offer music lessons for an entire orchestra.

This winter the studio, owned by Krysti Schey, located on South Main Street, Bluffton, has expanded.

“We added new teachers, Rebekah Ricker, Leah Baugh, Florin Simioanca and Tori Watkins,” said Schey. “In addition, we’ve added three new practice rooms, so we can do more lessons at the same time.”

With the new teachers, Krysti’s has expanded the type of instrument lessons offered.

Ricker instructs piano and woodwinds, including saxophone, flute, oboe, clarinet and bassoon. This is the first time Krysti’s offers woodwind classes.

Baugh instructs cello and violin. With her addition, Krysti’s now offers cello instruction.

Simioanca offers advanced violin lessons.

Watkins joins the studio as an art instructor, which now enables Krysti’s to offer art classes. Watkins, a Bluffton University art student, offers private lessons. Schey said that the studio hopes to offer an art camp this summer.

The new instructors expand the studio’s total teachers to 10. This brings the studio’s musical class offerings to include piano, voice, guitar, theory and composition, violin, cello and woodwinds, in addition to art classes.

Schey said that the studio currently has 140 students and continues to grow. Students range from age 3 through adults, beginners through advanced.

Students come from several communities in addition to Bluffton, including Carey, Waynesfield, Kalida, Findlay, Columbus Grove, Pandora and Ada.

The studio started when Schey was a student at Bluffton High School, 10 years ago.  For more information contact Schey at 419-233-5255 or visit its facebook.
