Bluffton council hears 2013 utility work proposals
Several utility projects are planned for 2013 in Bluffton. Dave Steiner, council member and member of the council utility committee, outlined the 2013 utility project proposal at the Feb. 11 council session.
• Kibler Street, waterline project, $14,000 estimate
• Garmatter Street, partial waterline project, $20,000 estimate
• Campus View waterline project, no estimate
• Eastland Drive, repair leak in waterline, no estimate
• Storm sewer work on Church Street, Jackson to Vine
Council’s finance committee will recommend a salary increase for future mayor’s and council members. The last time salaries were adjusted was in 2000.
Also on the 2013 is a paint review of the new village water towers. The towers were erected in 1999.
The council parks and recreation committee is reviewing repair of the slide at the Bluffton Community Swimming Pool. The 20-year-old slide is in need of structural work, according to Jamie Mehaffie, village administrator. Some cement work is also needed on the pool deck
