Friends of the Bluffton Public Library 2013 Spring Tea
The Friends of the Bluffton Public Library will host their fifth annual Spring Tea at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday, April 11, in the library’s Richland Room. A light meal of homemade foods that are traditionally offered at formal teas will be served prior to a program by Don Bruns.
A former comedian, songster, and entertainer turned novelist, Bruns will bring his wit, guitar, and writer’s stories to the library. His eleventh novel, Hot Stuff, was released in December.
He will tell tales from the road, sing a couple songs, and discuss how to write a book. The Stuff series has been called a grown-up Hardy Boys and follows two young private detectives in Miami who in most cases don’t have a clue. Literally, they don’t have a clue.
“Publishers Weekly” says the series has “Laugh out loud moments!” Bruns also relates the relationship to the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew series to show how the Edward Stratemeyer Syndicate influences writers today.
The Friends’ tea will be a fun, entertainment-packed presentation with questions, answers, and books for sale.
Tickets are $12 each and must be purchased in advance at the Bluffton Public Library. No tickets will be sold at the door. There is limited seating, so get your tickets soon.
