Bluffton Public Library accepting teen volunteer applications
Bluffton Public Library is accepting teen volunteer applications for its “Dig Into Reading” summer reading program. Ages 12 through 18 may apply. Applications are due by May 15 and parental permission is required for minors. Volunteers must attend a one-hour orientation session on May 20 at 6:30 p.m. or May 23 at 3:30 p.m. Light snacks will be provided following orientation.
This is a great opportunity for teens to serve the community, meet new friends and gain valuable experience to list on future college and job applications. Teens will be scheduled to help with a variety of duties such as helping with decorations, displays, crafts, events, registration, prize distribution, filing, light cleaning or fun programs for all ages. Volunteers may also assist with special community events.
Volunteers who serve at least 15 hours and meet attendance goals will earn tickets for a mystery prize package valued at $150! Two prize tickets will be earned for the first 15 hours of volunteer service completed between June 4 and July 27, followed by one prize ticket for each additional three or four-hour shift worked.
Applications are available at the library and online at www.blufftonpubliclibrary.org. For more information, visit the display in the library or at [email protected] or by calling 419-358-5016.
