Motter Metro Park plans build excitement for what is to come
Want a peek into the future of the Motter Metro Park? At Tuesday's public meeting with town officials and interested residents, Patrick J. Beam of Bassett Associates shared several detailed information panels that not only mapped the park as it is now but as it is envisioned into the future.
And after searching for 25 years for land suitable for a park in this area, it's more than just the Johnny Appleseed Park District that's excited about the plans.
A wetland and wildlife observation deck are planned, although the Park District will need the support of the community for those. Plans also include installing natural interpretive signs and to eventually have an expansive wetland project.
Environmentally 'neutral', educational, and a very natural park is what is planned with a number of initial tree plantings designed to attract certain wildlife and bird species. The existing village bike route will tie into the park eventually as well.
