BHS graduate Ryan Benroth graduates from U.S. Naval Academy

U.S. Navy Ensign Ryan W. Benroth, son of Melvin and Jacqui Benroth of Columbus Grove, graduated from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Md., on May 24 and was commissioned as an Officer in the U.S. Navy. 

ENS Benroth successfully completed four years of academic, physical, and professional training, resulting in a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Mechanical Engineering, with a focus on energy and propulsion.

Following graduation, ENS Benroth has been assigned to Nuclear Power School in Charleston, S.C., and then will proceed through the nuclear power pipeline of which will lead to service aboard a nuclear submarine. 

Benroth joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 2006 and served three years enlisted, reaching the rank of Corporal, prior to attending the U.S. Naval Academy. Benroth is a 2005 graduate of Bluffton High School.
