Irene Louise Burkholder was a former employee of Beaverdam post office
Irene Louise Burkholder, 89, of Lima died at 8:57 p.m. July 5, 2013, at Otterbein Cridersville Retirement Center. She was born July 11, 1923 in Ossian, Ind., to Wilson and Louise Elett Snider who preceded her in death. On April 20, 1947, she married Martin D. Burkholder who died April 5, 2010.
Mrs. Burkholder worked for American Airlines prior to her marriage and later worked at the Beaverdam Post Office. She was a member of the Zion Lutheran Church, Lafayette.
Survivors include a son, Gary (fiancé, Kathy Johnson) of Etna, two daughters, Pamela (Gregory) Bowsher of Waynesfield, Jayne (J.J.) Kaiser of Columbia, Md., four grandchildren, Cynthia (Troy) Blubaugh, Juliana Kaiser, Ben (Stephanie) Bowsher, Andrew (Ashley) Nelson and a great grandson Dylan Blubaugh. She was preceded in death by a brother, Walter Snider and a sister, Carol Harrington.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. Thursday at Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Bluffton. Rev. Bob Gibson will officiate. Burial will be in Hasson Cemetery, Van Buren Township, Hancock County.
Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Zion Lutheran Church, PO Box 7111, Lafayette, Ohio 45854. Online condolences may be expressed at www.chiles-lamanfh.com.
