Vera Grimm was a former teacher at Holgate High School

Vera L. Grimm, 87 died at 2:40 p.m. July 17, 2013, at Willow Ridge, Bluffton. She was born July 18, 1925 in Berne, Ind. to the late Tilman and Meta (Neuenschwander) Soldner. On June 17, 1948, she married Henry B. Grimm and he died Oct. 19, 1996. 

Mrs. Grimm was a home economics teacher at Holgate High School. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Bluffton. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, singing and was a member of the "Singing Wives Pastors Group." She graduated from Berne High School and Bluffton College.

Survivors include two daughters Phyllis (Tim) Solack of Dublin, Donna (Kevin) Polhamus of Leipsic; a son, John (Martha) Grimm of Greenwich; nine grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; a sister, Ruth Hartzler of Pandora; and a son-in-law Bruce McKibben of Melrose.

A daughter Nancy McKibben preceded her in death.

Services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church, Bluffton. Pastor Bryant Miller and William Herr officiating. Burial will be in Maple Grove Cemetery, Bluffton.  Visitation will be Monday from 5-8 p.m. at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton.
