Bluffton man sentenced in May 29 breaking and entering
A Bluffton man was recently sentenced in Allen County Common Pleas Court for his role in a breaking and entering incident on May 29, 2013.
Bluffton police report officers responded at 1:17 a.m. to a report of a suspicious man in the area of the Family Dollar store, 111 Cherry St. Upon arriving, officers discovered broken glass in the front door. Officers observed a male leaving the store, and engaged in a brief foot chase. The man hid in some brush a short distance from the store.
Officers approached the man in an attempt to apprehend him. The officers identified the suspect as Lee Brodman, age 28, of Bluffton. A struggle ensued, resulting in additional assistance from two deputies from the Allen County Sheriff’s office. Ultimately, a Sheriff’s deputy deployed his TASER in order to bring Brodman under control. Brodman was transported to the Allen County Justice Center following his arrest.
On July 18, 2013, Judge Jeffrey L. Reed sentenced Brodman to 19 days in jail, and three years of community control (probation). Additionally, Brodman was ordered to submit to random drug testing, was barred from consuming alcohol or drugs, must maintain employment, must receive counseling, and must serve forty hours of community service.
