WLIO TV features Small House Bluffton's open house
WLIO TV, Lima, created this feature on Small House Bluffton, on July 28, 2013.
They say in the real estate business what counts is location, location location.
Sam Shriver has more on an effort in Bluffton to cut back on energy usage by building close to the assets of the community.
This home, being built on north Lawn Ave. in Bluffton is close to just about everything in the community.
That closeness, means people could walk to the grocery, post office, even school, and that means not using energy to drive there.
Andy Chappell-Dick has started a new contracting business called Small House Bluffton.
An open house was held Sunday to showcase what's been done so far.
The first home he's building will be for he and his wife Wendy.
The home is being built with an ecological design and efficiency.
So much so, they've registered their project with L.E.E.D. or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, which is administered by the U.S. Green Building Council.
Chappell-Dick says they hope to reach the highest certification level.
Fred Steiner with the Bluffton Area Chamber of Commerce says the project highlights the benefits of living in a small vibrant community like Bluffton.
