Butterfly migration celebration Sept. 8
The Allen County Master Gardener Association will be hosting The Butterfly Migration Celebration on Sunday, September 8, 2013 beginning at 2 p.m. at The Children’s Garden in Lima.
This unique event features the release of dozens of monarch butterflies; butterfly-themed children’s activities; an educational butterfly presentation and much more.
The Children’s Garden is currently funded exclusively by donations and is staffed by volunteers. The Allen County Master Gardener Association relies on the support of the community to continue maintaining the garden and offering educational opportunities to the residents of the region.
Children will be given a card listing Educations Stations located throughout the Children’s Garden. After completion of at least 6 stations, they will be given a live, dormant Monarch Butterfly to warm and release into the garden.
Admission and activities are free. Donations will be accepted.
The Children’s Garden is located between the Allen County Library and the Allen County Museum in the 600 Block of West Market and High Streets in Lima.
