Service Group of Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio holds fall bulb sale
The Service Group of Mennonite Home Communities of Ohio (MHCO) is selling fall flower bulbs as a fundraiser to support projects and programs that benefit the elders living at MHCO.
Orders can be made through Sept. 28 by stopping at the front desk of Mennonite Memorial Home (MMH) or calling MHCO at 419-358-1015 ext. 248. Orders can also be placed at one of the Service Group’s sponsoring churches; Ebenezer Mennonite, Emmanuel UCC, English Lutheran, First Mennonite, Grace Mennonite, St. Johns UCC, St. John Mennonite, or St. Mary’s Catholic. Bulbs will also be for sale at the Service Group Bake Sale on Sept. 27-28 at MMH, 410 W. Elm St., Bluffton.
For nearly 60 years the Service Group has supported projects and programs that make elders’ lives brighter. Through bake sales, meals and other fund-raisers, The Service Group contributes over $10,000 annually to benefit the elders of MHCO.
Recent projects they supported include the canopy over the Dogwood Patio, a large screen TV for the Patio Room at Maple Crest, support of the Green House project, support for the Garden and Pier Project at Maple Crest, hearing-assist devices for MMH, and lift chairs for MMH elders.
The Service Group members also volunteer for many activities on the MHCO campuses. The Flower Bulb Sale is their newest fundraiser.
