Bluffton University's Anna Hairston named HCAC Athlete of Week
Freshman Anna Hairston (Mansfield/Ontario) was recently named the Heartland Conference Female Athlete of the Week following her performance at the Queen City Invitational on Friday, Sept. 9.
Hairston, who is relatively new to the sport in only her second year, set the mark for the fastest 5k all-time at Bluffton University. She finished with a time of 19:37 in a very competitive women's field, good enough for 40th among 148 total runners at the Queen City Invitational in Cincinnati. She was the highest-placing non-scholarship athlete on the women's side.
The Bluffton harriers return to action this Saturday, Sept. 14 when they head north to Calvin College for the NCAA Regional preview race.
