One-half million dollar FAA grant coming to aid the Bluffton Airport
Sometimes things come in large packages.
The Village of Bluffton has received an up-to-$531,217 grant agreement from the Federal Aviation Administration, according to Jamie Mehaffie, village administrator.
“The grant will be used to rehabilitate the apron, the runway and the taxiways of the Bluffton Airport,” he said. “Once we receive the fully executed agreement back from the FAA, we will move forward with scheduling on the work.”
The grant will be officially announced at Monday’s council meeting. In other village action, work will move forward on refurbishing of the support structure of the Bluffton Community Swimming Pool slide.
Mehaffie will also update council on that project on Monday. Several other pieces of action are scheduled. For a complete council agenda, open the printer-friendly attachment at the bottom of this story.
