There's still time - Lions Corvette raffle is noon on Saturday
Here's still time to purchase your chance to win a red Corvette.
The drawing for this year's Bluffton Lions Foundation charity Corvette raffle is noon, Saturday, Oct. 5, at the Bluffton Farmers' Market.
Raffle tickets will be available for sale at the market from 7:30 a.m. until a few minutes prior to the drawing at noon.
This is the fourth year the Foundation has been holding the event featuring the drawing for a Corvette.
The first year winner was from Van Wert; the second year's winner was from Spencerville; and last year's winner was from Celina.
The Foundation’s Charity Corvette raffle program is being used by 501 (c ) (3) Public Charities and Lions Clubs working in behalf of public charities within a 50-mile radius of Bluffton.
Overview of the raffle program - provided by the Bluffton Lions Club:
The Bluffton Lions has been making a positive impact on our community and surrounding area through many service projects for over 79 years. We also realized, due to the down turn in the economy, our local charities as well as those in other communities need to find additional sources of revenue to maintain their programs.
Against this background the Bluffton Lions decided to lend a helping hand through a broader service approach.
The goal was to develop a fundraising program that would especially help charities in our community and region; to secure the needed financial revenue during these challenging times to sustain their important programs…this goal was achieved through the development of the Bluffton Lions Foundation’s Charity Corvette raffle. A concept that fits well with the Lions motto of, “we serve” and is a signature program of the Bluffton Lions Foundation.
The resulting fundraising program is one that will help 501 (c) (3) Charities secure needed funds through a program that is very easy to access, has very low start up cost, a concept that has a proven record of success, contains very appealing features, has major program costs covered by sponsors and a thrust that motivates people because it is a win win situation…some lucky person receives a Corvette and charities receive money to continue their mission.
The Bluffton Lions Foundation is also a public charity and its revenue generated through this program will be used for community service projects such as the Bluffton Pedestrian & Bike pathway project. The Corvette raffle is a program where 100% of all the financial resources raised goes to public charities.
The Charity Corvette raffle concept is a natural fit within the Bluffton Lions Foundation’s Festival of Wheels Car Show…also Lions clubs within a 50-mile radius of Bluffton are actively participating in the program to support public charities …the Corvette is on display starting March, 2013 and the winning raffle ticket, will be drawn during the Bluffton Farmer market, noon on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2013.
This program is only possible through the support of or sponsors…the 2013 sponsors are:
• Tom Ahl Family of Dealerships
• Bud's Corvette
• Don Snyder Excavating, LLC
• A to Z Portion Control Meats
• Citizen National Bank
• John’s Body Shop & Towing
• Springfield Fireworks, Inc.
