Hold on to those leaves: Village pickup starts last week in October
Bluffton's leaf pick-up program will most likely begin the last week of October,
dependent on the weather.
MONDAY'S COUNCIL AGENDA IN ATTACHMENT AT THE BOTTOM OF THIS STORY
According to Jamie Mehaffie, village administrator, "If the weather changes and the leaves start falling en masse, we may start picking up earlier on a part-time basis, alternating with mowing responsibilities. However, currently, while some trees are dropping their leaves, the majority are just beginning to change.
"The Service Department will begin at one end of town and complete a sweep of the Village before starting over.
"As always, residents are welcome to take their leaves to the brush dump on North Spring Street. Trash cans are available at the site to dispose of plastic bags used to haul the leaves there. Leaves should not be left in bags at the brush dump."
Ideally, the annual leaf pick-up will end by Nov.29.
