HCAC player of week honor goes to a Beaver
Sophomore Ryan Aelker (New Bavaria/Holgate) was recently named HCAC Player of the Week for the week ending Nov. 3, 2013.
Aelker led the Bluffton defense to a 28-0 shutout win over Anderson. The sophomore finished with four tackles, two sacks, three tackles-for-loss and a quarterback hurry as the Bluffton defense limited Anderson's offense
to a paltry 157 total yards and seven first downs.
The defensive end has 29 tackles this season, including 18 of the solo variety. He leads the Beavers with five sacks (31 yards) and 11 tackles-for-loss (46 yards).
Bluffton (2-6, 2-4 HCAC) will welcome No. 9 Franklin College for a 1:30 PM kickoff Saturday. The Senior Day contest will be the final home game with the Beavers headed to rival Defiance College on Nov. 16.
