Jeff Gundy to discuss his new book on Nov. 21
Jeff Gundy, a professor of English at Bluffton University, will present a program Thursday, Nov. 21, on his newly published book, “Songs from an Empty Cage: Poetry, Mystery, Anabaptism, and Peace.”
Beginning with refreshments at 3:45 p.m., the event is free and open to the public in the Musselman Library Reading Room on the Bluffton campus. Afterward, Gundy will sign copies of his book, which will be available for purchase.
Gundy has published five books of poems and three of prose; his latest book of poems, “Somewhere Near Defiance,” is forthcoming from Anhinga Press. He has been a major organizer of the Mennonite/s Writing conferences, and “Songs from an Empty Cage”—a poetic exploration of theology—is a sequel to his “Walker in the Fog: On Mennonite Writing.” His work also appears regularly in periodicals, including Mennonite Quarterly Review, Conrad Grebel Review, The Georgia Review and The Kenyon Review.
