Local companies/unions honored with national safety award
Husky Energy, RMF Nooter, GEM Industrial, Inc., PRO-TEC Coating Co. and the Lima Building Trades Council were presented with prestigious Zero Injury Safety Awards (ZISA) during the National Maintenance Agreement Policy Committee's annual gala in Washington, DC on Oct. 24.
GEM Industrial, Inc., PRO-TEC Coating Co. and the Lima Building Trades Council received the ZISA Bronze Star for working 399,567 hours at the Continuous Annealing Plant in Leipsic in 2012 without an OSHA recordable injury.
RMF Nooter, Husky Energy and the Lima Building Trades received the ZISA Certificate of Merit for working 54,294 hours at the Husky Lima Refinery in 2012 without an OSHA recordable injury.
This ZISA award is the highest standard set in the construction industry, and union contractors, labor representatives and company owners from around the nation were present for the awards. Ohio Building Trades/Lima Building Trades President Mike Knisley accepted the award at the banquet in Washington, D.C.
