Two Bluffton University seniors have been honored for their work as accounting and business administration majors.

Brandi Dominique, from Wauseon, Ohio, has received the Financial Executives International (FEI) award, while Ben Roeschley, from Graymont, Ill., is Bluffton’s second recipient of a full scholarship to Bowling Green State University’s master of accountancy program.

FEI presents its award to a student who has demonstrated “a high level of academic achievement and intellectual honesty, and who possesses high promise for a successful career in business.” Dominique, who has a concentration in finance, carries a 3.97 grade point average, including a 4.0 in her major. She is currently serving her second internship at Cooper Tire & Rubber Co. in Findlay, Ohio, and plans to work there after graduation this month.

Dominique is the former secretary and current president of Bluffton’s Student Investment Club. She is also a member of Bluffton University Business Leaders Inc. and the Honors Program.

For two years, she was a member of Bluffton’s cross country and track and field teams as well. In 2012, she set university records in the 800-meter run—both indoors and outdoors—and was part of a school-record-setting distance medley relay team.

Roeschley has earned the second annual Beaver-Falcon MAcc Scholarship, a Bluffton-Bowling Green partnership that includes a full-tuition award plus a paid graduate assistantship for a Bluffton accounting graduate.

Roeschley, who is also serving an internship at Cooper Tire & Rubber, is president of the Bluffton University Business Leaders, director of Bren-Dell Hall and a pitcher for the Beavers’ baseball team. Last summer, he completed an internship for State Farm Bank at its Peoria, Ill., headquarters.

At Bowling Green, he may specialize in any of three tracks of study: accounting/auditing, information systems auditing and control, or taxation. Graduate assistantship work can be completed in the areas of research, teaching or general program support. Completion of the master’s program will give him the 150 hours of study required to sit for the Certified Public Accountant exam.
