John Neuenschwander was a Bluffton High School graduate
John D. Neuenschwander, 69, of Pandora died at 4:13 p.m. Jan. 30, 2014, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima. He was born in Bluffton July 10, 1944, to the late Isaac and Marcella Basinger Neuenschwander. On Oct. 14, 1967 he married Janice L. Yager and she survives.
He retired from Scott Lad/Nash-Finch, Lima after 43 years. He had also worked at Triplett Corp., Bluffton and Sylvania GTE, Ottawa. He was a graduate of Bluffton High School. Member of the Mt. Cory Masonic Lodge 418, Zenobia Shrine, Toledo, Teamsters Union Local 908,and a member of the Ottawa Eagles. He attended St. John Mennonite Church, Pandora.
Survivors also include a son, Nathan (Kim) Neuenschwander and their children, Lucas, Alexandra and Zachary of Pandora, a daughter Marcy Neuenschwander and her son Cody of Kenton, two grandchildren Quincy and Damon Neuenschwander whom John and Jan are raising, a sister, Susan (Jack) Cupples of Findlay and a sister-in-law Lois Neuenschwander of Ossian, Ind. He was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur Neuenschwander.
A memorial service will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday at St. John Mennonite Church, Pandora. Rev. David Stratton and Rev. Mark Hollinger will officiate. Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. Saturday at Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services Bluffton and 1:30 to 3 p.m.
