March in Bluffton is "official eat-out month"
Something about March brings out excuses to eat out. Consider:
• On Thursday Maple Crest held its winter soup cook off (if you missed it, you lose, it was a great event).
• The Bluffton High School Junior Class will hold a pancake/sausage breakfast from 8 to 11 a.m., Saturday, March 8, at the Bluffton McDonald's.
The meal includes:
• All you can eat pancakes
• Sausage patty
• Small drink
Tickets are $6 each and may be purchased at Bluffton High School, Ideal Images, or call
(419) 234-4178. All proceeds will go to the Bluffton 2014 Post Prom.
• Emmanuel UCC fish fry is from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday, March 14.
The menu includes:
Fish, potato salad, cheesy potatoes, pickled eggs, apple salad, green bean casserole, macaroni and cheese. calico beans, baked beans, broccoli salad. cole slaw, mixed fruit, cranberry salad, 7-layer salad, taco salad, perfection salad, macaroni salad, cookies, pies, cherry dessert.
Tickets: Adults $8, children 10 and under $4.
• The next Maple Crest Senior Living, 700 Maple Court, Bluffton, Sunday buffet is March 16, according to Daren Lee, director of Maple Crest.
The menu includes:
• Corned beef and cabbage with carrots and potatoes
• Herbed pork roast
• Sweet potato casserole
• Sauteed fresh squash and zucchini
• Dinner rolls
• Cherry pie
• Coffee and iced tea.
The buffet is in the Patio Room at Maple Crest from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. It is open to all adults 55 and older at a cost of $7.50 per person.
Due to the overwhelming response, reservations are required for persons who plan to attend. Call Maple Crest at 419-358-1015 (choose option 2) for reservations. Limited seating is available.
• Bluffton Music Boosters Harlan's Chicken Barbecue and shrimp dinner is Friday, March 28, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. (or sell out). Pre-sale tickets on sale at Greg's Pharmacy and the middle and high school office are $7.50. After March 23 and at the door, if still available, tickets are $8.
• The 32nd annual Bluffton Lions Club-Sr Citizens Center pancake breakfast 7 a.m-1 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, at the Senior Center. Ticket prices and the entertainment schedule are on the way.
