Lots of great art works in BFR-University Dietetic Internship "Keeping Activity" contest
Nine creative winners were recognized ealier this month for their participation in the Bluffton Family Recreation Sports and Fitness Center’s Keeping Active coloring contest, which was co-sponsored by Bluffton University’s Dietetic Internship as a part of BFR’s Keeping Active campaign.
Children, ages 3-10 were able to color pictures of healthy foods during the Kick-off event and throughout the January-February Keeping Active campaign which featured many events, including the Presidential Active Lifestyle Challenge for adults.
The coloring contest winners were announced and received prizes along with gold, silver, and bronze “medals” for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, respectively.
Pictured below are the winners who were able to attend a photo opportunity at BFR along with dietetic internship representatives, Kyli McCullough, Jennifer Little, and Sneha Patadia.
9-10 yr olds: Paige Mosely, 1st Place
6-8 yr olds: Terron Boblitt, 2nd place & Noah Bricker, 3rd place
3-5 yr olds: Elizabeth Honse, 1st place; Kenedeye Scoles, 3rd place

The Presidential Active Lifestyle Challenge was a six-week program. During this challenge participants were encouraged to increase their physical activity to at least 30 minutes 5 days a week were asked to adopt a nutrition goal each week.
Those who signed up to participate received a free pedometer at the Kick Off event January 24th. Throughout the challenge the participants logged their activity and nutrition progress on-line and earned points for themselves and Team BFR.
BFR Team’s top point-earner was Brenda Byers of Bluffton, who received a prize package and will be awarded an official Presidential Active Lifestyle Award certificate later this month.
